Flight and Airport Details

Flying time from UK: Between two to two and a half hours.

Local time: One hour ahead of Greenwich Mean Time. (GMT)

Important notes for the first time visitor to Majorca:

Son Sant Joan, which is the main tourist airport, is large and modern, located in the South of the island, and on the out skirts of the capital Palma, situated a little to the North of the resort of C'an Pastilla.

When flying out from the island, the departure procedure means that, the departure gates are a considerable distance from the check in desks, so allow plenty of time for the walk to the aircraft, and especially when having children or those with special needs in your care.

There should be plenty of disabled wheel chairs and facilities available for those in need of this service, but please contact us to be sure that such arrangements have been made either  pick up or delivery to the airport.

Once you have cleared customs control and collected your luggage, there are usually a large number if taxis waiting outside the arrival hall, although during busy periods, be prepared to stand and wait your turn in a queue!

IMPORTANT:

The standard taxi on the island is only licensed to carry a maximum of 4 passengers plus a 'reasonable' amount of luggage, so for larger groups of travellers, or those with special needs, it is recommended to make provision for a pre-booked taxi, or especially a mini bus to be waiting for you at the airport, and clearly specify at the time of booking through ourselves, that a larger or specially adapted vehicle is needed for the journey.

Most taxis do not normally carry child safety seats, so your child would have to sit on your knee, therefore all the more reason to pre-book a taxi, clearly specifying that a child seat is required.

Majorca, along with her sister islands of Menorca and Ibiza, collectively known as the Balearic Islands, is nestled just a short distance off the South east coast of mainland Spain, in the legendary Mediterranean Sea, with flying time from most UK Airports being around two to two and a half hours, and local time being one hour ahead of Greenwich Mean Time.

The island is served by a number of charter airlines, with most recognised airlines giving excellent value for your money, with flights from most UK regional airports to Palma.

We can offer a complete package, which in many cases will our clients money, and give them peace of mind.
Please do not hesitate to contact us for an unbiased opinion, in order for you to be able to make your own 'informed' decision.
