Golf is special to Majorca, which has 11 official standard golf courses to offer both to the amateurs and the professional, to practise this sport.
High profile golf competitions are held in Majorca, beginning with the Spanish Professional Championship, then
The Balearic Islands Trophy, the Challenge H.R.H. Count of Barcelona and many others.
There are a total, of 20 courses to choose from, which are open to tourists and other non-members, with the ideal climate of Majorca in which to pursue their game, can make for the perfect golfing holiday.

Alcanada Golf Club - (Tel: +34 (0)971 54 95 60)
This golf course was designed by Robert Trent Jones Junior, and features 58 well placed green side and fairway bunkers. Challenging greens with hidden breaks and difficult but fair tee shots, make this course a must for all experienced golfers travelling to Mallorca.
Andratx Golf Club - (Tel: +34 (0)971 236 280)
The 18 hole championship course is already well known as one of the most difficult and challenging in the Mediterranean. Hole 6, being 609 meters from the championship tee, is the longest hole in Spain and one all golfers look forward to playing.
It winds uphill, through trees and water hazards, and is fraught with danger. The tee shot from hole 8, shortly afterwards, offers a spectacular view of the bay in Camp de Mar, and the hills around it.
Camp de Mar Resort and area golf courses
In and around the areas of Camp de Mar, there are as many as 6 championship standard golf courses, the nearest being the Golf de Andratx, who's 18th green is next to the 5 star hotel the Royal Dorint Hotel.
This course was opened to the public in 2000, and is accredited to the famous Gleneagles development with Rodney Barr.
Canyamel Golf Club - (Tel: +34 (0)971 564457)
Canyamel Golf course is situated in the North East of Majorca and is renowned for being one of the most beautiful courses on the island.
Jose Cancedo designed this 18 hole golf course, (par 73), with the philosophy of doing the least damage to Majorca, by adapting the course to the natural topography of the land.
The course caters for all levels of player, and the quality of the greens makes playing here a real delight.

This 18 hole course is designed with challenging but fun tees which include 5 and 5 greens located next to the clubhouse. It is an entertaining course that requires the player's attention from the time of chip and putt.
Pollensa Golf Club (Tel: +34 (0)971 533216)
Nine holes of golf, perfectly integrated into the beautiful local environment. The course offers panoramic views over the Tramuntana mountains, olive groves, the bays of Pollença and Alcudia and s'Albufereta reserve.
By the end of the first round, the visitor will surely agree that challenge, variety, and harmony with nature, are the focal points around which the club's success is built.
Golf Pollença was opened in 1986, and underwent a complete renovation programme in the year 2000 to bring it to the excellent standard it boasts today.
The greens are maintained in perfect condition, and there are two lakes and much indigenous vegetation, above all of the olive and pine trees surrounding it.

In the north-east of Majorca, by the town of Son Servera, is Pula Golf, a complex which combines golf, cuisine, and a hotel, all in a pleasant, exceptional and exclusive setting, which is at the same time very personal & unique.
Surrounded by several nature parks around the town of Son Servera and the bay of Cala Millor, lies the prestigious Pula Golf course. It is an 18-hole course which also offers a large driving range, 2 putting greens, and a pitching green.
It has become one of the most important courses on the island of Majorca, and has been the venue for international tournaments such as the PGA European Tour Majorca Classic.

The design of Golf Park Puntiro's golf course is signed by the renowned Nicklaus Design Company. Golf Park Puntiro is an 18 holes course par 71, on an estate of around 165 acres.
The difficulty of the course is average, though it can reach high levels from the back tees. It has a total length of around 5 to6 yards out from the white tees, where high-precision holes, and holes for great hitters, are displayed.

Rotana Greens is a private 9-hole Golf course just a few meters from the Rotana Hotel that is reserved for hotel guests. There are no green fee or tee times, you play golf at your own pace, when you like, and as many times as you wish.
Behind the hotel you will find a putting green, driving range, chipping green, practise bunker and practise Par 3.
Santa Ponsa Golf Club ( Tel: +34 (0)971 69 02 11)
Golf Santa Ponsa I is a 6,543 m, par 72 course which was inaugurated in January 1977. The 10th hole is one of the longest in Europe.
Designed by Folco Nardi with assistance from Pepe Gancedo, Golf Santa Ponsa I covers an area of 73 hectares.
It is a long, wide course with many indigenous trees and vegetation, water hazards and bunkers. Santa Ponsa I is one of Majorca's busiest courses, because many national and international tournaments take place here.

The two 18 hole courses at Son Antem Golf Club are the masterpieces of Francisco López Segalés, one of Spain's leading course designers.
Since 1990, he has designed courses in all the major resort areas of Spain. With Son Antem, Segalés has garnered rave reviews from professional golfers and vacationing ones alike.
Several key European golf tournaments have been held at Son Antem, including the Audi Quattro Cup and the Majorca Cup.

Son Gual is a private, family-run members' golf club, set in 156 hectares of beautiful Mediterranean landscape.Guests are welcomed warmly, but are asked to respect the club's etiquette rules, thereby ensuring the safeguarding of the course's superb all-year-round quality.
Harmoniously dispersed throughout the course are 66 strategically placed bunkers, more than 1,000 olive trees, enticing water hazards, neighbouring fields of colourful wild flowers, and Son Gual's own perfectly tended vineyards, making it one of the most spectacular courses in the Mediterranean region.

The Son Muntaner golf course, encourages every golf enthusiast to enjoy a round surrounded by spectacular Mediterranean environment.
Son Quint Golf Club ( Tel: +34 (0)971 79 34 24)
This new 9-hole Executive Course at Son Quint has been landscaped using the indigenous vegetation to Majorca, featuring olive, carob and pine trees, as well as Leyland cypresses forming a lateral protection to one side of the course.
Throughout the 655 meters length of the course, stone walls typical to Majorca, oleander bushes and lantana flowers complete a challenging, but fun, short golf course.

Son Servera golf club is located in the north east of the island. The course is played through a beautiful pine forest next to the sea.
The fairways are somewhat narrow and there are bunkers galore, so concentration is the order of the day! There are nine holes to play.
Son Termens Golf Club ( Tel: +34 (0)971 617 862)
Popular with the locals, this 18 hole course has small greens and hilly fairways.
Son Vida Golf Club ( Tel: +34 (0)971 79 12 10)
The Son Vida golf course ranks amongst the island's most beautiful courses. The tree lined fairways offer breathtaking views of the spectacular surroundings and the bay of Palma.
Val d'Or Golf Club ( Tel: +34 (0)971 837 001)
Vall d'Or is an 18-hole golf course par 71, 5.539 m long from white tees. It combines two completely different landscapes in the first and second round.
The front nine holes have rolling fairways surrounded by a forest of pine, almond and olive trees.
The back nine holes have wider and more uneven fairways that go down towards the coast. The greens, protected by bunkers, welcome all approach shots.
It is an average-difficulty golf course but quite entertaining, and with magnificent views of the Mediterranean Sea.
Mini Golf Courses
Palma Nova Golf Fantasia ( T: +34 (0)971 682349)
There are mini-golf courses in many of the resorts, but this is one of the best, set amid waterfalls, caves and tropical gardens.
There is a choice of three different circuits - or you can play all 54 holes. Even adults will enjoy it.

Come to one of the most beautiful courses on the island of Majorca! Find peace and tranquillity as you play this course, designed by the famous US Architect Dan Maples; its 15th hole was repeatedly voted the most beautiful hole on Mallorca by Mallorca Magazine. Undisturbed nature at its best!
Poniente Golf Club - (Tel: +34 (0)971 130148)
One of Majorca's oldest courses, the John Harris course was opened in 1978 and is a well designed course that even the best of players find it hard to beat at times, but it remains a tough but fair course.
This 18 hole, par 72 and 6.430m long course is a mixture of flat and raised holes. Situated between pine trees, its seven lakes, numerous bunkers, the excellent conditions of the fairways, together with the variety of the greens all contribute to the magnificent style and character of the course.
